SimVSM Animated short films – Multi-product support
The value stream comprises all processes that are necessary to manufacture and offer a product or product group, whereby a product group basically consists of products with similar process steps and parameters such as throughput times and rework rates.
If product groups cannot be formed due to the variety of products, separate value stream analyses are traditionally carried out for each product or the focus is only placed on the most important product. Both of these factors impair the clarity and informative value of the results for the behaviour of the overall system.
The SimVSM app for documenting and simulating value streams closes this gap and makes it possible to store a large number of products with their respective process parameters on the value stream objects. This also includes the option of defining and analysing setup matrices or product-specific material flows.
