SimVSM Animated shorts – Value stream design
The first step in value stream management is value stream mapping, which involves recording the current status of a production system. Based on the findings and possible targets, the value stream design is carried out in a second step, for example to achieve a reduction in inventories or an increase in delivery reliability.
The optimization potentials are not always obvious and easy to calculate. In practice, this is why only a few studies are carried out.
